How to light up the cellar and make it livable and functional
The cellar of the house is a truly versatile area of the house: it is a great
place to store wines in case you have a passion for wine, but it can also be
used for other purposes such as storing furniture and objects that you can't
find in your home place. Whatever its use, it is still necessary to light it
properly, so that everything inside is clearly visible. This is necessary for
the event that the cellar becomes an integral part of our home, and becomes a
living space to all effects. So what do you do to light up the cellar? Which
lights per cellar do you choose? Here are some tips on how to light up the cellar.
How to light a cellar with ceiling lights
Usually
the natural light in the cellar is never so much and therefore it is necessary
to provide a light cellar to ensure the right brightness at any time of day in
this space. This system can also be made from outside, without digging into the
walls. To obtain the anesthetic effect of sure impact, the lights in the basement
must guarantee a uniform brightness to the whole environment. If you decide to
choose a ceiling light, we advise you not to install it on the ceiling, but to
place it on the walls, thus purchasing more than one and possibly with LED light.
Basement lighting with spotlights or sconces
For
a perfect light in the cellar you can also opt for LED spotlight that distributes
the light correctly even in the corners. If the cellar is large you can also
install them at a distance from each other, so as to ensure the right light at
any point in the room. A good choice is the recessed and white light spotlights,
to be placed on the ceiling, or, if you prefer, you can also install wall
lights on each wall.
Illuminate the cellar with LED strips
The
led strips are also excellent for perfect lighting of the cellar, ideal for
saving on consumption and for ensuring a homogeneous and continuous light. TheLED strips are easy to install and with this system putting the light in the cellar will not be complicated at all. With the LED strips you can create
decorative lighting in some places or you can choose to light the entire room
with a single light attack, using longer strips. The result will be a well-lit
environment and you can also add a floor lamp to be placed in a corner to give a further suggestion to space.
How to bring light into the cellar
As
already mentioned, in order to be usable and functional, the wine cellar must
be equipped with correct lighting, regardless of the use you want to make,
whether you decide to use it as a storage room, as a wine store, or even as an
extra seat for sleeping or spending time.
However,
if you do not already have a system, you have to do it: with regards to this
there is no rule prohibiting the installation of an electrical system in a
cellar, but this must comply with the requirements of the law.
In
short, the lighting in the cellar must be made in accordance with the CEI 64-8
standard, which provides for the location of the sockets at a minimum height
from the ground. If you live in a condominium you can use the basement for your
needs, but you can't connect the electrical system to the common one, because
you would go to use the condominium's energy network for private use.
However,
if you need to build a system, you can choose to connect it to your home,
including the consumption of the cellar in the bill that you normally receive.
Or you can decide to make a private connection with a new meter and then a new
supply contract.
